Coroner dismisses tabloid story claiming Michael Jackson autopsy details

A top official with the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office denounced as inaccurate a British tabloid story claiming to have details of Michael Jackson's autopsy.

Coroner's spokesman Craig Harvey said the results of an autopsy completed Friday by the Los Angeles County coroner were deferred pending toxicology tests that could take up to six weeks to complete, and that the entire report was placed under a security hold.

But that didn't stop the Sun tabloid from claiming it had details of the medical examiner's findings including some gruesome specifics about Jackson's body.

"The report that is being published did not come from our office,'' said the coroner's spokesman. "I don't know where that information came from, or who that information came from. It is not accurate. Some of it is totally false.''

Jackson's body was released Friday to the family. A private pathologist completed a second autopsy Saturday.
